Repair .nts sidecar file

Hi All,

I've got an HD movie (5.56Gb in size) whose .nts file some how became corrupt at the time of recording meaning I can only navigate to 3/4 of the movie. I can watch it past this point but can't rewind / fastforward without it stopping and returning to the media list. I took a copy (decrypted) onto my PC and tried using Raydon's AV2HDR-T2 v1.0 which fixed the issue but now the audio doesn't play. I tried both the 7002 and 7006 audio stream but that made no difference. Below is the original format info incase that helps.

Hope someone can advise.

Thanks

Rodp

Hi Black Hole,

Thanks for the link - that worked a treat. Do you think it would be possible to allow the option to use the programme description from the existing HMT file or at least give the user the option to repopulate the description and parental guidance?

Thanks in advance

Isn't there an option in Sidecar just to recreate the NTS file and keep the original HMT file? In your case there is another way to fix the problem if you still have the recording with the original sidecars. If you put a bookmark at the start and then crop using Nicesplice this will fix the NTS file in the process and you will keep the synopsis and guidance text.

You can edit the description and guidance through the web interface if you need to. Just use the media browser and click the OPT+ icon next to the recording, selecting the Rename option.

Two very good pieces of information - thanks guys. There was another reason to replace the HMT file though as that file appears to contain data about the length of recording. I realised this after creating the new .nts file (alone) which then allowed me to navigate (fast forward / rewind) past the 1:21 mark but the navigation bar on the tv still ended at 1:21. So I went through the process again but just repaired the HMT file this time and noticed that the nav bar was then displaying the correct time. I will defo give the bookmark trick a try though as didn't think about that.

Thanks again.
