Replacement Hard Disk Drive (HDD)

I did a search for SkyHawk Lite as its only just come to my attention but no hits.
What's the current recommended Pipline replacement?
Anyone know the pros vs. cons of the Lite version?

(ref. SkyHawk Lite entry)
I see they are 1-2GB and CMR type. Looking at the datasheet, I can see they came out 2018 or earlier.
The DS date for the regular SkyHawk is currently 2024.

SkyHawk (CMR) -pdf: SkyHawk Datasheet (2024) -Updated URL
1GB: ST1000VX013
2GB: ST2000VX017

SkyHawk (CMR) -pdf: SkyHawk Lite Datasheet (2018) -Updated URL
1GB: ST1000VX008
2GB: ST2000VX007

Update. I've re-entered the URL links to the pdf's based on my download history.

What exactly have you done here, the data sheet links don't work. Is this user error or a forum upgrade software bug?

A brief search yielded this:
"
The load/unload cycles for the lite were half of the normal skyhawk:

LITE: Load/unload cycles 300,000 at 25°C, 50% rel. humidity
SKYHAWK: Load-unload cycles 600,000 at 25°C, 50% rel. humidity

The SATA interfaces are different too:
LITE: Interface SATA
SKYHAWK: Interface SATA 6Gb/s
"

The marketing cr@p from Seagate:
"Seagate® SkyHawk™ Lite is designed for small office and home to reliably record and play back sharp, high-quality video footage"
and there was me thinking it was just data. What's sharpness or quality got to do with this? It's just b@ll@cks.

Definitely, as he's tried posting links to his C: drive.

So, like, it didn't cross your mind that wouldn't work? An alternative would have been to add the pdfs as attachments to the post, and then you can (if you wish) link to the attachments within the post.

As for the requirements for a PVR HDD, you need something which is not going to park its heads just for the sake of it, and can "do" continuous rather than burst read/write.
