Restore video files after new SSD install

Hello, I am new to this forum so I apologize if I am repeating stuff.
I just replaced the HDD with a 1TB SSD in my Humax 1100S- no problems there.
I have the HDD on my desk - is there any chance of recovering and rewriting the files to the SSD ? I have a Linux Mint PC and could mount an external drive. I read also about custom firmware for the Humax ? Is this relevant ? Thanks

You can't have read much, otherwise you would know that only applies to HDR-FOX, HD-FOX, and FOXSAT.

Yes there is a chance, by the obvious expedient of mounting both drives and transferring the data. There's nothing else to try.

This link has some images taking of the process one owner used for the extraction. It shows the relevant location as well as which 3 to 4 files should be copied for each recording you want to transfer.

Humax HDR 1000/1010/1100S - Copying to USB

Obviously (!) when you do it you won't want to include the RM command so that you can still use the old disk for backup.
