I was just cruising my local Tesco and spotted two different displays of HDR-1800T, both at £139, but one in red packaging and the other in blue packaging. As far as I could tell, they were both the same model with 320GB drives.

Did Humax change the packaging for no reason except maybe to appeal to the Christmas market?

No idea. My three year old 2000T was in a (mainly) blue box. Perhaps red packaging is newer stock?
