Hi folks. New member and first post here. I feel I will be hanging my head in newbie shame soon... After owning a Humax 1000S since around 2018 onwards, and being envious of the abilities of the Foxsat HDR to be able to download recordings to external media AND being interested in the possibilities of the custom firmware, I recently splashed out the grand sum of £25 on Vinted and got myself a Foxsat HDR. It arrived yesterday and I spent last evening setting it up and tuning my channels, which was mostly a success allowing me to happily watch BBC One HD and others. I've just purchased a new universal quad lnb as I think my old one is giving up the ghost as some channels were not tuning well. Anyway, I digress.

Overall standard set up went as it should yesterday evening. Today I downloaded the custom firmware from this very forum and followed the readme installation instructions to the letter, or so I thought. After installing, putting the unit on standby and then booting up the unit, my channels have disappeared and the receiver is no longer receiving any satellite signal... I tried to factory reset but realised that this does not remove the custom firmware.

Am I scuppered? I had a thought about installing the last official Foxsat HDR firmware to get back to square one but I can't find this to download anywhere so far, and I'm unsure if this will solve the problem. Have I rushed things in my ineptitude? I have very minimal tech skills for satellite gadgetry so I fully expect to be well and truly schooled into oblivion by seasoned members on here! :(

Aaand I have an update. I connected up my 1000S again and that is receiving 0 signal too so it looks like it’s a cable, dish or lnb problem! Off to get my ladder out of the shed…

Are you aware of Nowster's Patch (which prevents recordings being encrypted)? I'm not a Foxsat owner so you'll have to look it up for yourself.

Yes thanks! I downloaded that at the same time as the custom firmware. I'll make sure my signal and set-up is all working as it should before I look at that!
