Sagemcom BT/EE TV Box Pro

When we first moved to our new house over 8 years ago we had BT broadband FTTP via the open reach box pre installed by the builders.

Then when BT/EE did the merge or whatever you want to call it (I still don’t understand it) with EE, when it came to renewal we were given an EE router to replace the BT router, so so you think we will be going back to a BT router again come new contract time?
I think Darren of BT, has stated on one of their forums, that it is not normal policy to change the hardware just because a transfer has made between BT and EE if the hardware is still compatible.
(Unfortunately I can't find the post to check the exact context.)

Yes, it is a shame that the provider that is in the upper range of expensive renewals (virtually no other competition in our area) does not seem to stick to any of its announced changes.

I was told that BT would be solely for business customers and the recently acquired EE would handle all domestic customers. That was 2.5 years ago when my contract renewed and I was sent a mix of BT and EE branded products.

Then late last year when I had to renew again, but dealing with EE CS this time, I made some changes to my contract which did throw up a couple of anomalies which were promptly dealt with by EE! The cause of the problems turned out to be that BT systems had NOT correctly transferred my account details to EE.

Made a nice change from the BT CS parrot style "reset your hub", "we will test the line", "bla bla bla" menu list designed to get rid of you. The last time they tested the line it showed an external fault which would be fixed within 14 days but is still showing on their system as as incomplete? My speeds are well up within spec so I have not bothered to query it. Life's too short to engage with BT CS if you don't have to - come to think of it, that applies to Sainsburys, EON-Next, Morrisons, Samsung. and very many other organisations which purport to "value your custom" and then use an AI chat bot called "Fred" or "Des" that is totally useless and unable to answer your questions and ultimately directs you to to a CS agent, in a phone queue or even on a WhatsApp link which then tells you it is not a live link but will be replied to within 2 days!!!!! Yes of course, it does make one feel a valued customer, not.

In other words, we have your money and we don't wish to know if you have a problem with our service. The system was broken and now being hacked apart into even more confusing job shedding complicated systems to persuade one that it probably is not worth your considerable time and effort to keep chasing any problems!

Perhaps I have just had a bad week - and had to deal with two of the culprits I mentioned above! :X3::o_O:

My local car repair garage now has an AI chat bot. The owner freely admitted its purpose is to get rid of time wasters that want to pay Kwik Fit prices or less. The bot asks if you are an existing customer and when you say yes you get put straight onto the email queue for the staff to contact you. I've been going there since the mid 1990s, I get put straight through by the AI on the phone which must be an even higher tier than email contact.
