Yes... in /mnt/hd2/mod/var/backup
Also yes - be aware that your favourites are in the backup and these will be restored along with the schedule.

"a file in the CF"? No: each backup is a file in its own right, stored in the same file system that much of the CF resides in. Do this (needs webshell installed):

1. WebIF >> Diagnostics >> Command Line
   
   
2. Enter PIN, type option "cli" to get a command prompt
   
   
3. ls /mod/var/backup/*.rbk

can it be copied to another box's CF?

Yes. Restoring from backup uses pattern matching to try to reconstruct the schedule given that a retune might have shifted LCNs around, so it shouldn't matter how the other box is configured.
