The Humax FVP-4000T and 5000T are suffering from the same problem.

I'm having the same problem - all scheduled series-link recordings showing up as unspecified date/time. The stale-EPG thing would seem to be the right answer for me, as our machines tend to sit on BBC1 HD permanently, as we watch mostly recorded stuff except for news & weather. I will try the solutions suggested here.

Yup - that was it. Changed to BBC1 SD for half-an-hour, and now all scheduled programmes showing correctly. Thanks everyone - it's been bugging me for weeks!
