Sorting Media by Date

My recorded programmes are sorted by date. I have followed instructions to sort by time but this doesn't seem to make the change.

Anyone else have this problem?

Sorry..... my mistake they're currently sorted by title and I can't seem to sort them by date.

I have just tried, and all of the sort options seem to be working properly for me, can you give further details of what you are trying to achieve.
If you are trying to sort folders, that will not work, but the files within them will be sorted.
