Sporadic loss of all channels

Hi moose. You're right. Silly me. It is an Antiference amplifier that is mains fed. It takes the line from the aerial on the roof and feeds directly into a second amplifier/splitter.
So, it sounds as if you have an amplifier followed by an amplified splitter. Normally, cascading amplifiers in this way is a recipe for disaster. If the amplifier is at the mast head (close to the aerial) and the amplified splitter is some distance away then this may not be too much of a problem. However, if the two amplifiers are close to each other then this may not be a good configuration. I assume that the amplification in the splitter is fairly small, just to overcome the losses in the splitter?
I'm wondering if you have too much gain in your system - what does the Humax report in terms of signal strength and quality on each mux?
