Reply from customer service. 'Update delayed due to unavoidable delays', but it will be 'soon'.....

Maybe they need time to downgrade it from Android 14 back to 12 to avoid their Freely recorder looking even more like a tech dinosaur.

Yep it's been soon for about 18 months now. My money is on the monkeys with typewriters.

I doubt we'll ever see it. The NEW Aura EZ only offers support until 1st November 2030. That's a cheek given that it is supposed to be future proofed to take us into the 2030's. Early reviews don't look good either. No more Humax tech for me!..
Further evidense that Humax now know it is a turkey ? I posted this back in October......................................................

"The product will receive software update support, including security updates, for 7 years from the date of initial supply as of December 1, 2025
Updates for firmware, applications, and bugs for Aura will be supported until December 1, 2032.
Details regarding the extension of the update period or the termination of updates will be announced 6 months before the expiration of the software update support period."

I'd take that with a pinch of salt. One major update for Aura in July 2021. Nothing since and it's now discontinued. No chance of another update even though they keep promising one. Customers going elsewhere as a result..
What is posted there is identical to what they briefly posted back in October and may just be in need of updating so you can disagree all you like but the date of Nov 1st 2030 is what Humax are now posting on their https://humaxdirect.co.uk/products/humax-auraez-4k-freely-recorder page.

Humax do have a track record of supporting products with firmware updates even after the product is no longer on sale, eg HDR-FOX. But perhaps that's the old Humax, before they outsourced the OS to Google and user interface to Freely.
