The Aura Android update.

Anyway, the HDR T2 was way back when Humax used to make semi decent gear that generally almost performed as claimed.
I agree.
That went down the tubes with the Aura and new Aura with overhyped and over ambitious claims that they can't justify or, apparently, achieve!
Apparently so. Manhattan appear to be the new Humax, producing boxes that mostly do what they say.

The big disadvantage, for me, is the inability to archive recordings onto an external disk.
I thought I'd read that people were having problems with Manhattan products as well - which would definitely make them the new Humax. A quick scan of t'net and I can't find the items I thought I'd read. :o_O:

Everything seems cheap nasty game shows or "celebrity" this, that or the other, filled with lots of crap which the celebrities and host find so exciting but leaves me cold - a lot of them I have never heard of - maybe that's just my sheltered life?

As I mentioned on another forum - I am hoping for "New: Celebrities on the bog" then maybe a few will get flushed!

I've never heard of most of these so called celebrities either.

The current repeat on BBC2 of House of Games - only heard of one of the four "celebrities".
There's a game I play if, and it's a big if, I see the start of one of those celebrity quiz programmes. It goes "who the foxtrot are you?" or "can't stand him/her". There's a good chance there's no one of interest, so I don't watch. You can tell that I do a lot of channel surfing these days trying to find something to view.
And they're mostly very thick as well, whoever they are.
So called comedians seem to be cleverer than presenters from news. Sports "stars" and those whose celebrity status is connected to webshites are the thickest.

Celebrity is no longer confined to TV. movies and sport and I bet if you asked someone under 30 it would be the people you recognise that they may not whilst those "connected to webshites" are all on their radar. Every game/reality/celeb and talent show these days seems to have at least one influencer on it and that number will grow as the show makers have no reason to alienate young viewers who they hope will be around for many years to cater for soon to be extinct dinosaurs wishing to remain in the past.

I have only once been in conversation with someone that claimed to be an influencer, this was at a barbecue. I rapidly realised he was one of the most boring people I had ever spoken to and rapidly found someone else to converse with.

Well, it did sort of work - he influenced you to disengage!

No Brian and Martin Liddle are still hanging in there, I have a feeling that they both also believe in Santa and the tooth fairy.:)
I know there is improved software in existence. What I don't know is when Humax will release it. It does seem strange to me that Humax chose to restart software development on the Aura and at about the same time announced they were going to stop selling the Aura.

Even stranger to produce and test a software update that may cure some/many/all of the current problems and then sit on it for months.
