.TS to HDMI processing path

Hi, I assume 1080i input via aerial will pass through unprocessed to HDMI for normal viewing if V-Format is set to 1080i

My question is when 1080i input is recorded to disk, is there a format flag which sets the playback to it's original V-Format, or does the TS file have it's own V-Format which is then processed to the relevant output required.

There is no processing of what is recorded to disk; it is the digital stream as received.

Apart from the encryption of course. :)
