TV Portal question

Hi
I have the latest update and CF software installed but have not as yet installed the custom portal option.
I have noticed that when trying to view YouTube videos, some do not display due an 'invalid format' error. Is this a known issue with the Humax portal?
Secondly, could someone advise me of the pros/cons of installing the Custom Portal please.

There are different formats used for YouTube videos, not all of them play on the Humax (it play MP4s), this won't be changed by installing the Custom Firmware TV portal. There have been 3 versions of the CFW Portal, but only the latest one 'New Portal' is compatible with firmware versions 1.03.xx. There are notes on the New Portal in the WiKi HERE
