What gave you the clue to swap "/" with "\\"?

Simply by trawling through web page after web page reporting the same issue. Most were of no use, but one or two had the '\\' instead of the '/'. Figured it was worth a shot.

Still, it's very odd that the command I've used for over a year now suddenly failed and that no one else, apparently, has this issue.

It could be that the "/" was a defect that a newer version of the command interpreter can't tolerate.

/ is the standard for the CIFS client on UNIX although it should tolerate \\ too. I can't think why it would have stopped working.

It's probably something that changed on the Win 8.1 side rather than the Humax side.
Thankfully I have never used 8.1 and have no intention of doing so.
