Updating webif packages on CFW 3.10

I have been updating some of the packages (and installing new packages) after having updated to CFW 3.10.
Every time I update or install a package I seem to need to reboot the Humax (HDR Fox T2) before I can do another. It seems that network connectivity (wired) drops out until the box is re-booted.
Is this normal?

I thought you had said that fixpkg would be built into 3.10 or am I thinking of something else
You're (probably) thinking of tcpfix. I do intend to automatically run fixpkg as part of a webif update in the near future to fix any remaining boxes.

Ah yes that's the one I was thinking of, good idea to to automate fixpkg as well since some people only upgrade once in blue moon and if it is not automatic we are likely to see repeats of the question for years to come.

Did the automatic fixencflag process get left out of 3.10? I spotted an erroneous enc flag on a recording of The Tempest the other night (BBC 2 SD). It fixed it when run manually.

That flag was not an error, the BBC have enabled content protection on selected standard def. content now (see here). The 'Enc' flag should have been removed by auto-unprotect though.

I have tried several times to run "fix flash packages" but can only get the following response

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">
<head>
<title>500 - Internal Server Error</title>
</head>
<body>
<h1>500 - Internal Server Error</h1>
</body>
</html>

with a banner that reinforces the Internal server error message.

Should I try reinstalling CFW 3.10? I have already updated all packages shown as needing update.

Ah! I thought they were the same thing! Now I have typed fixpkg in the selection field and - BINGO!

Sorry to have been thick - I am still a newcomer to all this, even in my mid 70's!

fixpkg will automatically be run a minute after upgrading to webif 1.2.8-14 (and the web server will be restarted if it has gone away) - hopefully that will put this one to bed.

And all subsequent releases? Some people, especially those using manual updating, go for months or years before upgrading

Yes, I'll leave it in for future releases too - it creates a flag file so it won't run more than once.

experienced same issue on cfw303 I manually update webif usually at least monthly, and had to power cycle last few times (after recordings clear).

thanks to this post https://hummy.tv/forum/threads/cant-access-web-if.7226/#post-99833

checked and found it was lighttpd not running after update.

have now upgraded to cfw3.10 and ran fix-flash-packages from cli, errored when run from webif diagnostics but fine from cli

maybe the poster wouldn't mind an op changing the title as its not just cfw3.10 this has been seen on ?

thanks for the help and great support
