Using a Wireless Access Point for 150Mbps

I used an Edimax EW-7711UAN initially via my wireless router which is 802.11g at 54Mbps and decided to try and get a better connection method, so bought an Edimax EW-7811UN to fit directly into my laptop and loaded Connectify Lite from http://www.connectify.me/

Connectify is free wireless access point software which worked first time, creating an access point which automatically routed through to my laptop wireless link to the router and on to the Internet.

The plus is that the speed is now consistently 135Mbps to the laptop upstairs, and the hotspot provides a click through button to connect to the HDR
 
Nice to know, but was there something in particular that you found the g connection too slow for?
 
When playing HD content stored on the PC back through the Humax it is not fast enough and keeps pausing to catch up, possibly a problem with my router. The n connection is fine.
