Web if https mode

Forgive my ignorance: in the customised firmware, under settings, web interface settings: should the https mode make all web pages served from the box https? It doesn't on mine - but I may have misunderstood what the function does. Thanks for any help in advance.

In summary: https://<Humax IP address> will establish a secure connection but http://<Humax IP address> still works.
If you require a re-direct from your router to the secure port, make it point to <Humax IP address> and port 443.
