WebIF and RS search commands / operators?

I've searched the Wiki but can't find a list of search operators for the WebIF or the RS.

These are my search results.

WebIF:
crime - Lots of matches
crime -csi - No matches

RS:
crime - Lots of matches, crime is highlighted in the results
crime -csi - Lots of matches, but CSI is also highlighted in yellow
crime-csi - Lots of matches, but CSI is also highlighted in yellow

On the RS search the ? next to the search box states + stands for AND, - stand for NOT, neither seems to work.
