Webif keeps asking for username and password

It is telling you that the hard drive is fine and the file system is fine.
Would it throw an error of some kind if there was something awry?

You will see messages if it is attempting to correct things. It appears there was nothing to correct so no messages.
 
That's what I surmised. Thanks for confirming. Good to know that it's still in good health, not bad for a device that's getting on towards 10 years old.

(Which makes me wonder whether I should actually have a plan for if it goes "phut" without warning. Currently the plan for anything I'd really rather not lose before I've had a chance to watch it is to copy it off to my desktop machine just to be on the safe side.)
 
I don't normally run with userids on the webif but I defined one and I have not been prompted repeatedly to signon with or without using https

Have you tried using a different browser and/or device to access the webif to determine if the problem is with the browser or server side
Any messages in webif-error.lof
