Where is the IR sensor?

Just got an IR extender to use with my HDR and wanted to know where the IR receiver was without taking it appart.

Has anyone had the fron panel off that could tell me and or even better send me a pic?

Front view in the manual shows a grey round area just left of centre. Shine torch at the front panel and it becomes visible.

That is the HD-FOX T2 that you are describing, on the HDR-FOX T2, it is approximately 4.5" from the right hand side and can be seen with a torch.
