Might be. 2.4 is shared with a lot of other non-wifi stuff, as well as other WiFi devices and nearby routers, so there should be less interference and more bandwidth on 5.
Whether you'll notice any difference in practice is another matter.
I do tend to use 5 where possible - phones and tablets mainly. All our boxes and TV are hard-wired, so I can't say if streaming, etc, is any different.
