I have already mentioned in another thread that I have been recording all the episodes of X-Files on 5Action. Even with the recording issues the Aura has been having recently I have managed to catch every episode with the aid of the weekend repeats where needed but I saw that I had recorded S4 E14 on Tuesday then S4E16 on Wednesday, The weekend repeats also skipped S4 E15. I checked and the missing episode is called Kaddish and this is its description.................................................

"Issac Luria, a Jewish man, is killed by a group of teenagers working for a racist shop owner, but one of them is soon strangled to death, and the fingerprints on his neck are from Issac. Despite other factors, Mulder becomes convinced that the man has returned from the dead to exact revenge."

Clearly just more pathetic woke bull***t. The news can report on terrorists killing Jews and Jews killing terrorists and children but an episode of a 90's Sci-Fi show might offend some delicate flowers feelings. 😒
 
They are all at it. A few years back TPTV showed all episodes (minus one) of The Main Chance- a legal drama 1969-75. One episode was heavily edited-can't remember why. An episode was dropped because it involved a black couple trying to adopt a white baby. The original ITV showing would have been at 9pm. I'm not sure but I think TPTV showed it at 8pm. Even if they'd shown the series at 9pm it is likely they'd have dropped the episode. But it does beg the question - why don't TPTV schedule things properly so they don't need censoring?
Given the time the X-files is on, late, you'd think the 5 lot would treat the audience with some respect. :rolling:
And I'm bleeping fed up with watching episodes of bleeping QI with all the bleeping bleeps-after 9pm.

It may have been a bit more complicated. Ages ago I retrieved a copy of the episode from YouTube. I think the story involved a rather unpleasant rant from the natural mother's mother, which could have been edited or the episode could have been shown at a later time (preferable). TPTV did that with the film "Sapphire" - sound dips for early showings but shown in full later at night, complete with multiple N words.
 
We can future-proof this. Broadcasts of all new programmes could be prefaced with "This programme reflects the broadcast standards, language and attitudes of its time and is likely to offend future generations."

Ones that actually mattered? She may have been right about something leading to x,y and z but I may regard that as a good thing eg. we can watch sex scenes in films on TV. (The fact that an increasing number of new films don't have sex scenes due to adverse studio opinions is a different issue.)

What does that have to do with Mary Whitehouse? It's the difficulty of policing the web when most sites are not in the same country which causes that.

That's lack of sex education. It's far worse in the US which restricts access to sex education in many states.

She also objected to to war being portrayed with realism and brutality in movies and on TV as it promoted undue pacifism. She was nothing more than a sexually repressed religious zealot who ironically worked as a sex education teacher.
