That was not aimed at you, I see Martin Liddle was here but gone now.I don't have powers to move it or answer it.
The thread was deleted, and the member was banned. The scum who joined and posted the now removed Crypto Hacker post yesterday is here now viewing threads. WHY? Has just their scam post and thread been removed but their membership allowed to remain ?
How were they able to log in and return today then? The thread was deleted, and the member was banned.
Yes there was 2, the first was all over the internet with the same type of crypto hacker scam but it was the second one that returned today. Was it my imagination or where there two different new users posting (similar?) rubbish yesterday? I thought I saw one spam posting which vanished later and then even later a similar (?) post appeared by a different user.
If the new user accounts are flagged by Stop Forum Spam, they go into the approval queue, which I process several times a day.Is it not possible to have to approve new user accounts and/or initial posts and Profile details from same?
Have you asked, or is it a lost cause? There are probably additional settings in the admin control panel that will require all new user accounts to be manually approved, but I don’t have the necessary permissions to access them.
This has now been dealt with.Another in the same family of crypto-spam posted by a new user very early this morning.
While it is annoying that some users do slip through they are fairly rare - hence the reaction when they doIf the new user accounts are flagged by Stop Forum Spam, they go into the approval queue, which I process several times a day.
Unfortunately, many new users don’t get automatically flagged, and they slip through the process.
When I’m on the forum, I look at the users online, and perform checks on suspicious looking account names, and get quite a few in that way and run them through the spam process, which checks for other users with the same IP address, and can also ban them.

Thank you. I have made some more adjustments in the admin control panel, these will no doubt mean more work for me, but should help to keep the forum spam free. While it is annoying that some users do slip through they are fairly rare - hence the reaction when they do
I appreciate the work @Brian does in keeping these forums spam free
