zero length recording bug
More 4 last night - 10 pm Devon and Cornwall at Christmas is a zero length recording. Boat Story on BBC One HD had finished recording at 2 seconds past 10. 'More News for You' recorded fine at 10.40.
Have checked in the hidden menu and both tuners appear okay. Had this same problem last week with Channel 4 + 1.
I have quoted prpr's comment as I have not heard of this bug. Can someone please enlighten me.

Just accessed the Humax and found these details about the recording:

Matt Bakers travels with Mum and Dad was on between 2100 and 2200 - weird...

Yes, we recorded that on the Aura and it shows 1h 4m. Maybe it overran a bit and confused things, though that 4 mins is quite likely to have been adverts beforehand.

Still wondering what the 'zero length recording bug' is though
On your 2nd post there is a screen shot that includes "Files: 3 file sin set". If you expand that you'll be able to examine the size of the TS file and check whether it is truly zero length.

If the TS is not zero then you could consider running

Also, somewhere, I think Black Hole wrote some notes on how to search the forum!

What does (or did) the Media list show for the recording – a lighting graphic? What message popped up when you tried to play it?

I've deleted it now. If memory serves then the Media list showed the name of the recording (I can't remember the icon but I think it was something like a negative). When I tried to play it a message stated that the recording was less than 30 seconds.

Three minutes isn't a problem and is a common occurrence. Just looks like the Humax software got confused about something, as it had half the information from the first event and half from the second.

Was it a scheduled recording? with AR or padding? or an instant recording using record button on remote?

Mixed information can arise with padding or instant recording when it takes information from the previous programme when recording starts before the programme information in the broadcast stream has switched to the programme being recorded.

Today I had several occurrences of both zero length and overrun recordings simultaneously:

In these recordings the .ts file is 0 bytes but the .nts files has been updated during the "recording" which only terminated when I pressed Stop on the remote control
