So are you claiming that 15M have been offered but not actually done? Or are these some other posts that you think were moved earlier? :confused:

Although it is now totally irrelevant, some time ago HMG set the target to be 15M vaccinated by Feb 15. Last week they changed the target to be 15M "offered vaccination" by Feb 15 and simultaneously invited everyone over 70 to go get one. As the total was close to 14M odd, by "inviting" the over 70s to attend, they were 100% guaranteed to meet their new target of "offered" rather than "vaccinated".
I rest my case.
 
You can criticise the government all you like, but we are 3rd in the world for vaccinations per capita, behind only Israel and UAE, both of which have populations less than 10 million.

However much you hate Boris he has delivered on this.

So what exactly is that case? They set a target of vaccinating 15m and achieved it.

I am a big critic of this dithering government, led by Sergeant No-clue, but in this case the vaccinations have gone stunningly well, no doubt because neither he nor his pal from East Cheam were involved, rather than down to them.

OIC. I rarely follow links unless their purpose and benefit (to me) is explicitly explained in the post. Too many people just link any old thing instead of adding their own value ... such as on twitter and FB. Parrots don't impress me.

I should add that I certainly don't use Amazon exclusively - far from it. My first stop is usually a google search which is then trimmed down to perhaps a few specialists (I've been buying a lot of bike stuff the last few months, and cat food for years) and Amazon and ebay. It's not uncommon for me to find the class on Amazon and refine it with the help of reviews to a specific item. Then a google for that will sometimes reveal a cheaper source - or as recently, the same Amazon seller has the item cheaper on their own website.

One big complaint I have with Amazon is the lack of geographical, or at least delivery time, filtering. I've taken to checking the estimated dates carefully as it's obvious now that Chinese sellers are common - I don't want it in April ! Ebay is better with geographical filters, though you still have to be watchful. (I used to filter for EU, but given the issues since 1 Jan I use UK only at present.)
 
I must say that early this century I bought and sold a load of stuff on ebay but have since gone off it and rarely ever check there. I guess it depends on interests.

I have had both experiences with Az, buy there or via seller directly, and even with the same seller I have found prices go either way. Advantages to me of Az have been that the complaint procedure is easier and refund guarantee better, particularly after some protracted negotiations with PayPal. An online chat on Az has usually sorted things immediately.

My main problem with Az is what proportion of prices they take, as a shop window, and work conditions in their warehouses. Morally, I feel I should buy elsewhere, but other considerations often change my mind.

As for Prime, we subscribe to that for several reasons.

* 15% discount on some repeat orders is handy

* We watch a load of stuff on the video channel

* Knowing things will be delivered quickly and left where we say, not chucked over the gate. With some items, delivery within hours.

* The occasional free books or magazines to read on kindle. (Yes, I do read books)

* Priority in daily offers

That's the clincher, and something I'm not interested in paying for. If there was a cheaper Prime option which didn't include video subscription I might be more interested.

I've fallen into that one, even on eBay. I try to use UK sources wherever possible (so that at least the seller has had to do the importing), but it's not uncommon the delivered item has come direct from China by airmail even so.

The specific example I have in mind is ordering a wireless mouse, only to realise (after committing) delivery was only promised in several weeks. It was inexpensive, so I found another (cheaper!) listing for the (apparently) identical thing, delivery within the week from a UK source. In fact, they both turned up quickly, only a day apart (identical externally, but slight differences internally).
 
And now we have the fun of whether or not import duties and VAT will be charged, plus a hefty charge from the courier for handling them. Taking back control.
