SOLVED: The CF causes processor overload UNLESS fixdisk used to optimise hard drive again

I have two HDR-Fox T2. One experiences blocking on HD recordings at times. This seems to be to do with CPU processing/temperature (stab in the dark: are the tuners getting too hot?) Running the fan at Max reduces the occurances of blocking. Setting unencrypt and processing to "not whilst...

    Web if https mode

This thread was very useful in finding the answer: https://hummy.tv/forum/threads/webif-can-it-be-accessed-from-the-wan.1092/ In summary: https://<Humax IP address> will establish a secure connection but http://<Humax IP address> still works. If you require a re-direct from your router to the...

    Web if https mode

Forgive my ignorance: in the customised firmware, under settings, web interface settings: should the https mode make all web pages served from the box https? It doesn't on mine - but I may have misunderstood what the function does. Thanks for any help in advance.

AR vs padding: which broadcasters are reliable?

    Overheating HDR-Fox T2 / Picture break up

Thank you for the advice. The RF 5V is off. I will try different heights and maybe lifting the corners off the ground so the underneath ventilation holes are more exposed. A new fan is in and I am running it at 40 per cent. Max HD temp so far under load is 41 degrees C.

    Overheating HDR-Fox T2 / Picture break up

I haven't - there is a slight trace of dust on the blades, but the fan and the inside of the machine are very clean. I am tempted to put some oil on the bearings to see if that helps.

    Overheating HDR-Fox T2 / Picture break up

I haven't checked the HDD temperature but I will do. Thanks for the temp figures - I still have the original Seagate drive in the machine and I will report back on how the fan mod goes.

    Overheating HDR-Fox T2 / Picture break up

I am posting this in case anyone else comes across the same problem. Symptom: Picture break up that starts and deteriorates after the box has been on for an hour or so. High temperature (almost too hot to touch) by the RF connectors on the back of the box and the metal backplate surrounding...

Huge thanks to Customised firmware team

Wanted to pass on my thanks to all the developers. What you have created is very easy to install and adds great value to an already decent piece of kit. Maybe Humax should give you some paid work to create its next flagship model.
