Utterly confused now trying to setup nfs sharing

Thanks for the info, I was thinking of trying out Foxlink. If nothing seems to work at the moment what about deleting the existing Mod Settings folders, or is it better to generate a new instance and leave everything in place - I have read the caveats about accidentally deleting the media files...

Utterly confused now trying to setup nfs sharing

Had a nice working nfs setup which I setup a few years ago. Now after installation of new firewall I changed some static ip addresses of the two HDR machines and then set about altering the folder configuration ip address statements. In fact surely the 'server' machine is the one whose content...

dlna-servername not available in package list ?

I'd like to rename one of the DLNA servers on the 2 HDR's I have , but although described as a "short-cut" in the Wiki it doesn't appear in the available packages list. Was its use deprecated for some reason ?. Using VLC on the Hackintosh doesn't seem to bother the app, I suppose all streams...

    disable-dso not working

Does this retune schedule entry live on some internal database which is only purged by disable-dso on reboot, then ?. My boxes get a reboot at least once per day

    disable-dso not working

I've got disable-ota installed as well on both boxes

    disable-dso not working

Have got two HDR's now using CF 3.03, my location in S.Wales gives me the dual set of channels from Mendip and Wenvoe so I normally manually tune each box to exclude channels from the other Tx. The one tuned to Mendip I found had been re-tuned early this afternoon I'm assuming due to a caption...

    Can't get to package repository

Yes, I was playing with the Telnet today and checked the hard disk in the 'Maintenance menu' so thanks for that, you can install a modified ftp server as well, I believe to give you full access to the file system.

    Can't get to package repository

I still haven't got this to work unfortunately despite modifying the firewall rules. I was running a packet capture utility (part of pfSense) which detected pings leaving the HDR destined for "rs.hpkg.tv", I assume that's correct ,in a browser you get a login page for Remote Scheduling. Thing...

    Can't get to package repository

I just Googled "pfSense ping" and yes, ICMP (ping) not allowed by default , it has to be setup as a pass rule on the WAN interface. Thanks very much !

    Can't get to package repository

After recent annoying retune for extra Wimbledon channels I decided to install custom firmware for one of my HDR's. Installing 1.0.3.12_3.0.3, however, although getting the 'welcome' web page from the customised firmware, when I click on the yellow button it immediately throws up the error...

Purchasing 2nd HDR for bedroom ?

Now that media playback is available in HD and SD on an HD Fox T2 in a bedroom from an HDR downstairs, I thought about getting a second HD Fox for another room downstairs with our old widescreen CRT monster which I have to use when driven out of the main sitting area when for example X Factor...

    Demuxing radio programme files

Tried VLC 1.1.10 again , no MP2 option available so went for MP3 and manually set bit rate to 192kb/s (R3 prog) . Did work this time but output file had a ringing type distortion when listened to on Squeezebox. Tried a Freemake conversion - clean in comparison so I think I'll stick with Freemake...

    Demuxing radio programme files

Tried VLC as I've tried VLC before down the years for format conversions but we've never got on together like today, on the other hand Freemake was excellent. Slower than just a simple demux to mp2 audio as it has to transcode to mp3 I suppose. The smaller file originally pulled off a 9300T...
