Well, Gentlemen - I immediately downed other tools and spent the next two hours (that's how long 'fixdisk' took to run) and hey presto - at the end of a chanhed style of 9 lessons from King's, I got my corrupted videos back (actually, they're The Managements files) - thus I'm spared an extended...
Thanks for the replies thus far. I was hoping to keep the query simple, but I'll try again with more detail.
I have a number of recorded programmes save to watch 'later'
yesterday I decided to delete a number (about 100 Gigs worth) which I did using the custom firmware interface.
There were no...
Today I looked at my indexed files and find the videos un readable (my lfe's collection......)
All the videos are indexed and I van view the indexes on the TV and via the PC.. When I try to view the programme I get a 'not found' message.
I can record and view new programme, but not an...
when loading customised packages from t'web I get -
"wget bad address Hpg.tv - failed to download hpkg.tv/foxsat/base/packages,gz"
methinks the website has been moved, so what do I do to get the correct web address?
Background / waffle.
I resurrected a spare Foxsat HDR which gad been used on...
Update
So often folks don't respond when they have a solution - that doesn't help others.
Before I went further with the suggested solution, I thought I'd have a go at clearing out some of the add-ons I'd loaded and were either not relevant to my use or didn't seem important. Thus I chucked a...
Sorry - I should have included - 'ran disk diags' and they said 'fine' including the date whne the disk is due to expire...
But thanks for the suggestion!
My trusted machine has suddenly decided to ignore my remote, then after a few admonishments it responds as normal....
I have tried waiting (for the box to warm up)
Used another remote
removed unwanted software
cleared all the recordings that we'll never watch
shouting at it
ALL to no effect...
FWIW - If you change the mode AND disconnect the machine from the mains for a 'considerable' (IME a couple of months) period of time, when you do restore the power the change in code is no longer recognised. Fortunately it will respond to resetting the code and you can proceed as normal.
It...
Question: How do I force an EPG refresh from the web interface?
Background - I have two foxsat HDRs that I don't use often - so I power them off.
Tonight The Management has commanded a recording of an R4 Extra programme and the EPG is a month out of date. There's no way (??) that I can force...
Firstly,
Graham thanks for your help - I'd like to send you a PM - but I can't see anything other than a 'conversation'. So how-to?
Secondly my question seems to have stirred up a bit of a hornets nest (not unique to this forum), but any-which-way it seems to have brought some life back to...
Thanks folks - clearing the cache removes all my cookies and partially remembered logon IDs - too much hassle! There must be a time expiry on some cookie or other because after an hour or so, IE decided to open the right page (which FF had done all along).
So instead of starting a new thread...
Calming down a bit, my earlier observations were flawed. I get to here:-
Welcome, and congratulations on successfully installing the custom firmware.
You are seeing this page because the full web interface is not yet installed
or essential components from a previous installation are corrupt or...
Ah, yes - thanks for your rapid reply. I was trying to keep the post short.
I've downloaded the base file from the cloud as above, installed it - OK, got as far as the next screen (download the full interface) and nothing further happens even after 1/2 hour. Repeated the full process still...
I thought I'd get the latest package in case it disappears (has it?)
Downloaded driver and loader package package, - installed OK but downloading full package goes nowhere...
Then I find to my horror that the threads on the subject are well out of date (silly, silly me).
So is it dead and if...
