HDR Fox T2 crashing and rebooting - also sound disappears after a while

I have a similar - but hopefully less terminal - problem which I have been living with for a couple of years, but is nevertheless annoying. Every time my HDR-FOX-T2 is switched from standby to run, it works fine for 2 or 3 minutes. THEN, the picture freezes but the sound carries on for another...

    Where's my EPG gone?

It gets worse! I decided to do a re-boot after SWMBO had finished watching, to see whether that fixed the problem. Did it hell! The bl**dy thing decided to do a factory reset all on its own, and I was greeted with a screen asking me what language I wanted - and it had totally forgotten its...

    Where's my EPG gone?

You will know from another recent thread that I installed the CF a few days ago. Up until now, whenever I've used the web interface on my computer, there have been one or two lines at the top of the screen telling me what is currently being watched and/or recorded. In the last hour or two these...

New user of custom CW (but old user of HDR-FOX T2)

Yebbut - the crash log is in UTC and the schedule in BST - so they're actually the same time! WT

It's the default red button (200) - which annoys SWMBO because it's still set to that when she switches it on later in the day - rather than to whatever channel she was last watching! WT

Ever since I installed the Custom FW, the HDR has been crashing a lot more. Is this a "feature"? According to the crash log it crashes at about 03:20 every day - at around the time when it turns itself on to avoid OTA updates - which doesn't really matter. But it often crashes just after being...

Hi, I've finally bitten the bullet and installed the custom FW having struggled on without it for 3 years or so! I seem to to got it working more or less to my satisfaction, but there are a few things to which I can't readily find answers. [Forgive me if I'm missing something obvious]...

HDR FOX T2 spontaneously re-booting and/or picture freezing

Unlikely as it may seem, that appears to have been the problem! Ever since I switched the powerline adapter back on again, the HDR FOX T2 hasn't missed a beat.

HDR FOX T2 spontaneously re-booting and/or picture freezing

Yes, it is plugged into a network - but I rarely make use of the network - the occasional file transfer to my computer, or watching things via iPlayer on the TV. What's the rationale behind your suggestion - is network activity a known issue? [It's no great hardship to unplug it, so I'll give it...

Interesting thought. How would I go about that?

HDR FOX T2 spontaneously re-booting and/or picture freezing

Been having lots of problems with my box during the last couple of weeks. All have been while watching live TV - not sure whether any recordings have been affected. Typical symptoms are that TV screen will go blank, immediately followed by "HUMAX" in big letters, and the rest of the startup...

    Audio Options

In the setup menu, under Audio Options, you can select "Stereo" or "Multi-channel" The manual tells you what the options are but doesn't really throw any light on the significance of the choice you make. It has a table - which I don't understand! - about what digital output you get under various...

External HDD format and PC compatibility

Another bit of the jigsaw which the OP may find useful is that there is a free utlity called Ext2Mgr (Google for it) which emables you to mount an Ext3-formatted external drive to a Windows system, and assign a drive letter to it. You can then read and write to it normally on a Windows PC...
