Closed Poll Should there be a separate forum for users of the HD/HDR-FOX T2 Modified Firmware?
I have both a HD and HDR and I voted no to a separate forum as I have enough trouble finding time just to keep up with the HDR forum. I don't look at the HD forum at all these days. Well you've proved what is possible, so maybe a modified script based on this work can be linked to the webif interface on right click to auto-decrypt the current file - replacing the original and updated sidecar files - maybe moving the originals to a backup-type directory just in case they...- Trevor Jasper

Wow, really cool. Liking this. I see you implemented what I asked for in another thread - namely wget copying the "mediaID".ts and renaming it to "file".mpg - on the localhost. If this is modified to copy the file over the original, then it should be possible to share HD content in it's original...- Trevor Jasper

Bug: Media Player wide screen playback incorrect
You could try the trick of setting the screen to 4:3 and letterbox under: menu -> settings -> preferences -> video -> screen ratio 4:3 and display format letterbox 16:9 They work for me to get the box to display the widerscreen video correctly letterboxed. Can HDR hard drive be mounted on the HD
I doubt it. My gut feeling is that the decryption isn't generic to the boxes and then keyed to the system ID. I would expect each box to generate it's own unique encryption hashes, but I am no expert. Currently the only successful way to decrypt is to get the box that recorded the program to do...- Trevor Jasper

Yes, just done it! HD Fox has an external hdd on the usb port at the back. Installed cifs and samba onto both machines in case I want to share both ways and also to share either machine to/from my laptop. Then telnet into the HD box: telnet ipaddress.of.hd.box mkdir /media/fox_hdr mount -t...- Trevor Jasper

Wow, that's one hell of a mkv file. I wonder if there's a memory resource allocation issue somewhere. Has anything else been able to process that? The other guys elsewhere have suggested Freemake. Not tried it myself. Sorry couldn't be of more help.- Trevor Jasper

OK, my bad. Audio copy doesn't always appear, it would seem (no option to copy rather than convert under "Modus"). However, I guess the audio transform will be much quicker, especially if pretty much nothing changes. Question is, does it work for you?- Trevor Jasper

MKV files ?
I have successfully used XMediaRecode to remux mkv files into mp4 files and they play fine on the Hummy. I do a straight copy of the audio and video by ticking the "copy" checkboxes, and it pretty well wizzes through remuxing the files, even on a laptop. Worth a mention.- Trevor Jasper

Free copying and editing of HD TS files on PC to DVD
I was recommended XMediaRecode, and I've used it a few times. It seems pretty good at handling most formats. I don't believe it can trim files but it might be what you need to convert to DVD. I beg to differ. Me too. That would be a really neat solution and, I think, is much closer to what the actual box does. The down side is that you won't be able to stream the HD content to a PC unless you've accessed it through the download option previously.- Trevor Jasper
