The UI on the TV will be virtually identical. Humax aren't responsible for the 2nd generation UI, that's down to Freesat. I have a Panasonic twin tuner Freesat TV. The User interface is the same as my HDR-1000S. Only ways I know of preserving your recordings is 1 Get a HDMI games recording... -

Filezilla is the easiest way to copy recordings to a PC if you install a FTP package. You only need to copy the .ts files. The sidecar files do nothing on a PC. Did you try all the HDMI inputs on the new TV ? Convinced your only chance is the active bi-directional 1.4 to 2.0 HDCP converter. You can try it and return it if it fails to work.- grahamlthompson

How long is your HDMI cable and is it a high speed cable ? The issue is clearly a handshake issue. Try a different hdmi cable with one marked as 4K capable. Recorder (FVP-5000T) switches itself on.
Mine sometimes turns on to full output when using a Harmony remote set to control a HDR-1000S generally when I terminate the watch the 5000T activity, despite the two activities have different ir modes set . Not detecting satellite cable
71% signal is very low for the very high field strength UK spot beam transponders. Should be very easy to get 100% using the Foxsat-HDR. That's the sort of level you expect on a Foxsat-HDR on the much weaker Europe beam transponders. All mine are 100/100%.- grahamlthompson
