  I assume that this is from the combinations of High/Low frequency range with Vertical/Horizontal polarisation, but haven't heard it referred to that way

  Is a Kindle out of the question - my wife and I have both benefitted from the ability to select the size of 'print' while handicapped by growing cataracts? With the Kindle there is a vast range of literature available (which should be cheaper when VAT is removed later this year)

I remember battling with grub, quite a few years back, to discover that the vital locators were patched into the boot code, and, at the time limited so that I couldn't use a larger HDD without very careful partitioning...

There's no difficulty about using channel selection, volume controls, on/off switch - so much so that I'v ceased to switch between as it confuses my wife.   OK - now I've got things connected. CH 516 comes up without any need to tune it specifically. I'm in the south-east, and a good reception area for that satellite group.

  I used one of those from the list, but found I got problems at times with maintaining the link (don't now remember details) so switched to a direct ethernet connection to an Edimax 7228 range extender which links to one of my access points. HTH

  I found several refs, including this from 2011, but also a suggestion that you can 'get away with it' if the original journal file is large enough. I am an overly cautious person when it comes to this sort of operation.

  Caveat: As I understand it, you can't just run resize2fs on ext3 as it doesn't take account of the journalling. You have first to convert to ext2, resize and then convert to ext3 again.

OK - now I've got things connected. CH 516 comes up without any need to tune it specifically. I'm in the south-east, and a good reception area for that satellite group.
