I have the Twonky server installed on the FoxSat and can browse that from the HDR-T2. Doing that I can play SD recordings on the HDR-T2 without conversion.
So, it's just the HDR-T2 -> FoxSat direction that I'm having problems with.
I did wonder about the sidecar files, thanks for clarifying, strange thing is that the HDR-T2 will play video directly from the FoxSat so maybe it's a backwards compatibility issue. Yep, I'm looking into AV2HDR at the moment but was hoping for something a bit more streamlined. Unfortunately...
Yes, I have auto-decrypt set on the video root folder and all the recordings that I've looked at via the HDR-T2 webif browser show that they are decrypted.
I now have NASMount running on the FoxSat-HDR and have the SAMBA package running on the HDR-T2 & can browse the media on the HDR-T2 but I can't play any of the SD recordings as they appear with a 'broken film' icon. From looking at the raw file directory, I can see that both systems are using...
Apologies if this is covered elsewhere but I can only seem to find 1 reference to my question & it's a few years old now so I wondered if it's still the case:

After selecting the 'upgrade all' option from the Package Manger tpday, I now have the same '500 Internal Server Error' when trying to access the webif.
Custom FW Version is 3.00
So far, I've tried the following (apologies for the formatting):

humax# cat /tmp/webif-error.log
/mod/bin/jimsh...
Seems OK, just booted from Standby and got a DHCP address. Good point though & if it starts to miss getting an address, I'll set a static via the setup menu.
Many thanks to @bottletop for the eBay link. I finally got round to ordering the Edimax on Sunday, it arrived yesterday (Thursday).
As noted on the eBay listing, it comes as a bare unit with no cables or manual. The manual is readily available on the Edimax website.
After a bit of messing...
This morning I tried a couple of USB WiFi dongles in the Foxsat-HDR and had a poke around using Telnet via an Ethernet cable, one of the dongles was the Edimax that works in the HDR-T2. Neither dongle showed anything via lsusb, but then again nothing showed via lsusb when I plugged in a USB...
I've posted in the Customised Firmware section in case I've missed a feature of the firmware. I have the Foxsat-HDR in my bedroom and the red standby light is a bit too bright. Other than the power off switch or some black tape, is it possible to alter the red light so it's off or not so bright...
Many thanks @MymsMan for your quick reply and the links.
I suspect you're right about the webif compatibility and like the idea of running ad detection remotely. From the little I've read so far it looks like remote access to the Foxsat drive may be possible. When I get a Foxsat, I'll see how...
I'm a great fan of this package and have been using it for years on my HDR T2. I'm thinking of getting a Foxsat HDR and would like to have Detectads on that too. I've been doing some reading & posted a thread in the Foxsat section and am guessing from the replies that the code will need to be...
Many thanks @adrianf36 for the link to avforums, I've had a quick read and will look in a bit more depth today.
In case anyone is interested, the link for the Humax Opensource toolchain / cross compiler has moved to:

It's been a while since the above was asked, hope you don't mind me bumping an old thread but I have the same question.
Anyone managed to get a WiFi adapter to work with the FOXSAT HDR?
I've been a happy user of the HDR FOX-T2 for a number of years and am thinking about adding a FOXSAT-HDR to a TV in another room. One package that I use every day is Detectads, it's not available on the FOXSAT packages page so I wondered how possible / difficult it would be to port the package...
Well, as it takes less than a minute to try, FFMPEG is worth a go. I also tried AVIDEMUX, it works just as well but takes a bit longer.
Any other options that people have come up with?
