As my recording and viewing is centred so much around the HDR Fox-T2 I've just bought a used machine off ebay to have as a backup.
I'm intending revert the machine to the factory default, update the firmware, install the CF, etc - but are there sensible checks I can do to on the machine to...
Raydon,
Sorry to be a pain in the back-side but I'd like to make a suggestion for the Media List Name generated by sidecar.
At the moment it uses the filename, which seems sensible, but if the filename is in the Humax format "name_yyyymmdd_hhmm.ts" one has to use the rename option to chop off...
VideoReDo has an option to convert AAC LATM to ADTS headers - when saving click on the 'Profile Options' button towards the bottom of the dialogue box and then click on the 'Convert AAC LATM to ADTS headers' check box at the bottom.
I've no idea whether this would enable Vegas to recognize the...
I don't know whether this might throw some light on the issue that Monty raised.
Out of curiosity I wondered what would happen if I loaded an iPlayer .mp4 file into VideoReDo and saved it as H264 .m2ts, renamed it to .ts and ran the Ubuntu sidecar package that Raydon generously posted.
The...
Other people are far more knowledgeable than me but if I had similar problems the first thing I would do is to load the offending file into VideoReDo Suite and choose Tools/Quick Stream Fix. You can also choose the output container type, e.g. H.264- .ts (188 packet size)/.mp4/.m2ts (192 packet...
I too once had a Panasonic HD recorder (actually the first consumer HD recorder on the market) - it was then a great leap forward from VHS but, IMO, a flawed implementation of the idea.
VideoReDo Suite can edit the .VRO files.
There was one recording mode on the old Panasonic that is very...
Curious - I've been running it on Ubuntu Server 12.04 without any problems at all.
The command I have been using is:
sidecar -n -h -p -i -c 99 -t "Channel Name" "file name"
Where 99 represents the channel number.
It would be interesting to know if you get the same error when using the same...
Raydon,
The sidecar port you posted seems to work fine on my HP Microserver/Ubuntu Server.
It is incomparably faster - a 12o minute video took 28 seconds vs around 14 minutes using the sidecar on the Humax (accessing the video via network share).
Thank you so much.
Raydon,
Thank you so much. I thought I was on chances and never expected such a quick response.
I'm gob-smacked!
I'll test it out later this evening and report back.
Sorry for inadvertantly "trying to teach my grandmother how to suck eggs"!
I've just looked at a test example where I have added a blank "Title" at the end of a video (using VDR) and I can see that the audio does bleed into the added black "title" - though in the example I looked at it was only...
An odd request:
Is it possible to install the sidecar package on a Ubuntu computer (actually Ubuntu Server in my case)? I ask the question as the package is Linux based so thought it just might be possible.
If so, what would be the procedure?
I know it might seem an odd request but how I deal...
You can insert black video at the start and/or the end of the edited video fairly easily, using the VideoReDo "Title" option.
Adding to the start: after editing the video:
Tools/Title Editor - click on OK without making any changes, then save the edited video as usual.
Adding to the end: after...
Curiously, since my previous posts, I've been able to install the "Network share automount" package and upgrade webif but I haven't succeeded in installing Samba. (I am still using CF 3.00.) Which makes me wonder whether there is a problem with Samba on the repository.
As for upgrading the...
Thanks for your answer. The CF version I am using is 3.00 (build 2137).
Curiously, I also tried to upgrade webif from 1.2.1 to 1.2.2-8 with exactly the same result as when I tried to install Samba.
After reading your reply I tried to install the latest CF (1-03-12 mod 3-03) but none of the...
Today I've tried to install Samba (using the Package Management - Available) and it repeatedly fails.
The error message is:
opkg_download: Failed to download
http://hpkg.tv/hdrfoxt2/base/samba_2.2.12-6_mipsel.opk, wget returned 1.
opkg_install_pkg: Failed to download samba. Perhaps you need to...
Well that depends on how valuable your PC data is or whether you want glitch free software (if you use the drive for the OS/software). If you lose data on the Hummy because of bad sectors you just get a glitch, etc. If you lose data on a PC it might be much more problematic, not less. I would...
