yep. My testing on the humax is not entirely a true test as the current ffmpeg build doesn't have h.264 encoding capabilities so trying 'mpeg4' as the codec. So far have tried converting 10 minutes but that failed - same messages on VLC. Tried just 60 seconds of video on the humax and that's...- rodp

and just a word on the network speed - playing the file from the humax via Samba to my PC is too slow as VLC is constantly increasing the cache. (this is after a reboot aswell). Other humax recorded based programs seem to be fine. Bitrate is about 7.5Mb/s which for a MP4 file is a little...- rodp

Update - I downloaded the edited AAC version of the file onto my PC and VLC message is showing this so yeah - ffmpeg didn't do a good job when doing the full file.- rodp

ok, the CHMOD thing has helped - Thanks prpr. Now I can delve a little further.... A new problem has materialised. It looks like the FFMPEG process ffmpeg -i "23-02-02 CGS X Show - Bugsy.mp4" -c:v copy -acodec aac -b:a 196k "23-02-02 CGS X Show - Bugsy (AAC).mp4" on the terminal window has not...- rodp

No Luck. All other files can be access fine without any changes to the smb.conf. I've tried a few different settings but still no luck. I even tried force user = root which then worked but that's probably not advisable. Perhaps now the file is written it doesn't matter what settings I try...- rodp

Log for the webif banner which says it's Streaming something
Hi All, Apologies if this has already been asked....When something is being streamed, via UPNP / DLNA to eg. VLC on a PC, is this logged anywhere? Also when something is being watched or read via SMB, is this logged anywhere? I've looked thorugh the obvious log files but can't find anything...- rodp

I've got some god news - I've been holding off using chkdsk as my past experience has been that it's a one way road and sometimes chkdsk can make things worse but on this occasion I'm happy to say that it fixed the issues. Is there a way to read exfat SD / USB cards?
Sorry - prp but my lack of knowledge on the difference between partitions and filesystems is showing, I'm learning as I'm going!! Have just tried both /mod/sbin/fsck.exfat or /mod/sbin/exfatfsck but it reports back the following: humax# /mod/sbin/fsck.exfat /dev/sdc exfatfsck 1.2.6 ERROR...- rodp

it isn't recognised in the camera anymore, aswell as windows, so I guess that's a different OS which probably means it's not going to be possible to repair the partition info? I've managed to get the files off and am working through them to see what I'm missing. Once fixed, I'll reformat it...- rodp

it was as this pic before the dd command was run (albeit a different drive letter). It no longer knowns it's exfat. windows just says now it's raw and need formatting.- rodp

errrr help!!! the dd if=/dev/sdc count=1 | hd command have upset my SD card now and can't be read in my camera nor in windows The dd command looks like it's done something bad. I suspect the data is still there so I just need to fix the partition info??? Please help!! Thanks Rodp- rodp

Apologies for the delayed reply - I have since updated to the new version of undelete but got crashing issues. So I've been busy sorting that out. That seems to have settled down now and so I will go back and test to see what happens. I'll come back shortly.- rodp

I found another card reader, a simpler one, just one port and still no luck. I am going to have to find another memory card and see if I can play around with the formatting.to see what works and what doesn't. In the meantime, is there any way I can tell or check that the exfat plugin has...- rodp

Had an idea to look at the sd card in window 10 computer management to see what it said about partitions and this is what it says so could the humax be struggling with the fact that there is 16MB allocated at the beginning?- rodp
