Hmm... Is it resolved for me? Maybe.
I let the box do the auto scan, restarted it, all seemed fine (except for a few channels that needed deleting.
Restored schedule from the backup, restarted the box and... Argh! Message shows its face.
Let it do another scan, restored schedules manually...
Others may have broader experience of this.
As far as I know it shouldn't skip to standby when tuned into any channel.
I think the HDD will still power down in non-power saving mode but still utilise the display (clock etc..) and not need a full boot when it wakes to record or view using...
Sorry BH, I just didn't want to believe you. Firmware denial is a terrible affliction.
I'm in Kent (Crystal palace transmitter) so had the DSO last night.
With 1.02.20 I did get the message after the first DSO stage but just pressed "later" on a couple of consecutive days and it left me...
And just like that, it got me! I haven't been home but logged into RS to check on the status of my box (I have a late afternoon wake/sleep timer). All recordings are gone and I suspect channels too :(
I guess everyone has different priorities, but I quite like the icons they work well for me.
As for your auto-retuning problems, I'm not sure you can blame this on the new firmware as I haven't had any such problems. Today's DSO also went smoothly.
There must be something specific to the encoding (not something that I'm that knowledgeable about). I've had MKV files output from Handbrake (mac DVD ripper) and from blu-ray on mac using Aiseesoft and work fine.
I think MKV is just a container but these programs seem to encode to H.264 and...
I've had this a couple of times when watching and recording where at least one of the channels is HD content, like you say I've never been able to intentionally reproduce it and stopping the recordings and rebooting sorted it out.
I have it working with this exact router with no problems. It didn't need any special treatment to work and worked with the Internet connection on the humax set to 'DHCP' and also 'manual'. I guess you've tried the obvious by rebooting the router + humax?
Went fine all in all.
One little glitch where the box took on the power on/sleep event that I had set via RS and forgot the early morning time set via the box.
It would involve you installing the custom firmware (http://hummy.tv/forum/threads/quick-start-guide.1301/) to your Humax (not desirable for everyone, as it invalidates your warranty). This installs a web interface, you can then use the web interface to decrypt the file. You should then by able...
The HD files are encrypted by the Humax. They can be decrypted in place using the custom firmware and the Webif (web interface) and installing the ffmpeg package (I think).

I've had my box running for about a month now. Custom firmware etc... Appears to be running well.
I've noticed a problem over the last couple of weeks where the odd recording is corrupting and while it will play back the picture is broken up and very jerky. For example, last week The Apprentice...
I have an iPad and quite like the idea of getting some of my program content onto it for watching while out and about.
Would it just be a matter of utilising unencrypt via the custom firmware and then FTPing the file to my mac for encoding by Handbrake?
Thanks for any advice :)
