Ok, apology accepted, you had me going there for awhile lol I can't help thinking its very strange the operation(firmware downgrade) worked on your box and not on the two I have had- deezel

So it would appear, though happening twice I am not sure luck is the appropiate term. It seems to me the procedure must now be considered very doubtful- deezel

Can anybody help. I have downgraded the official firmware to 1.o2.32 and as said in a previous post have now lost all channnels. Automatic and manual searches reveal 'no channels'- deezel

Yes, I think I may have been guilty of that. Anyways, sent that unit back and got a replacement. The replacement had the updated firmware 1.03.06 as before so this time I was careful to flash the official firmware first 1.02.32 and guess what, lost all the channels and an auto search finds...- deezel

connection timed out
I installed the servemon package but it started timing out again, have just rebooted and initially it timed out, second try it was there- deezel

Though accessing the web ui ok when I first installed the cf it has been nearly impossible this evening All I'm getting is a connection timed out message.- deezel

Hi I understand how to load and install the packages, its a description of what they do and how to operate them that I'm after A dummies guide so to speak Thanks edit: Ive read raydons txt file that came with the cf which has helped a little- deezel

Hi thanks for that, cheers, it worked a treat ..but how do I use telnet in the custom firmware? is there a guide for noobs how to setup and use these CF packages like samba, tinyftp, mediatomb etc- deezel
