Two recent scheduled recordings on different channels worked successfully, so I guess we can just say there was a glitch. What with a number of recordings on different channels all having failed, I was worried that something was significantly wrong
I'll investigate further after I've made a recording tonight, and seen if it works, and what happens when I delete. It wouldn't surprise me if zero length .ts is treated differently from non-zero length, but I thought the experts would have known whether or not this is so. Thanks for the...
With the customised firmware, deleted files should still be available in the Deleted folder. I was surprised that these were not present.
No, the disk is not full, though I can see why you think of this as an obvious possibility. Not too long ago I deleted all my recordings, as I had copies on...
I had deleted them before seeing the response. I have the customised firmware, so deleted items usually show up in a Deleted folder. In this case, either because of an issue with the customised firmware or because they were of zero length they did not appear there so I cannot try playing them...
On Friday I scheduled five recordings for Saturday. When I came home on Sunday I found that they had all failed, showing up in my list as of zero length.
I'll gladly give more information, but don't know what is likely to be relevant.
I note that I have the customised firmware. Also I had...
Yes, I knew that. What I did not know was if there was any good reason not to use the default option. And anyway you have given me a good reason not to plug in an external drive at all.
Thanks for the link
Thanks. I didn't know that.
Main reason for Ext4 rather than Ext3 is that I know almost nothing about Linux, but have just got a Raspberry Pi, which has Ext4 as default. But the earlier part of your reply makes this irrelevant as I might as well stick with FTP and not use a drive.
Yes, I was...
I may want to use an external drive on my Humax to transfer recordings to my computer (I can do it by FTP, but that is slow). Is an ext4 formatted drive OK. that is probably what I would be using on the computer. I ask because the Humax came out before ext4 was introduced, I think.
Also, do you...
I Have an HDR-Fox T2 and use the customised firmware, and lately it is giving me warnings about reallocated sectors. Specifically, today it said
Overall Health: PASSED
Reallocated sectors: 5 (was 4)
Pending sectors: 0 (was 0)
Offline sectors: 0 (was 0)
The number has vret up from...
Thank you. I realised that I had been using the desktop version of the remote controller. I've switched to the mobile version and will see if that works better, which it may. If not, I now know how to create a macro. But I don't know how to rename macros. That is needed, because keystrokes on my...
I quite often use my iPhone to connect to my Humax custom firmware, and use the remote to put it into standby.
But if there's too much being recorded (or watched) the on-off button of the web remote is covered by the list of items.
Is there another easy way to put the Humax into standby?
I've just done it, and the file plays. That suggests there's something odd going on with the FTP transfer. I'll experiment a bit more with that.
"All" about encryption is a far cry for me, I know a bit.
Yes, I knew I could do it that way, but find iPlayer Automator easier to use. But I didn't...
Thanks. I'll try physically moving the file over (copying onto a flash drive) and see if it works. The .ts file I was trying came from an older model of Humax, so I would have expected it to work, but maybe there was a change or I did something when getting it to my Mac. However, it does say its...
A couple of files I copied from my Mac to my Fox T2 recently gave the message "file format not supported" when I tried to play them. One was a .ts file, the other was an .mp4. Both played fine on the Mac.
I never used to have any trouble. I upgraded to Big Sur not so long ago, but I can't see...
Thanks. I took a look at the instructions for dismantling the remote, and decided it was too difficult for me to do unless the remote had so many faults that it had to be dismantled or replaced.
But 0 to switch on is ideal, and I may also use the ir package (as I already have the customised...
The (original) remote control for my HDR Fox T2 is mostly working ok. Once the machine is on, all the buttons work as they should. But the on/off button on the remote does not work, I have to turn the box on and off by the big button in the centre of the box.
I am wondering if a failing battery...
Many thanks. The free space on my hard drive had dropped a fair bit recently (mainly because I had missed Line of Duty the first time round and so binge-recorded and watched four series), so I was not sure if I might have set things to avoid HD with less free space.
As it's a BBC thing, it's...
