I wasn't able to run a fresh HDD diagnostic would it have produced a log file if I had.
Wait. I can do that for myself now, whilst the management is still asleep.

Yes, I was expecting it to behave something like entering safe mode. I killed it in the end and went back to square one.
However, there is/was a chance that 'maintenance' involved something more exacting - remember when early PC-DOS always did a memory test on start-up? That would take a...
Some slight news to report in. I (finally) got round to looking for the logs reference the first issue, and now find myself without remote access. Although I set up a new user - humax, password humax - ( Yes - I know about security... its just for a couple of hours)
Attempting to start...
Na then, 'er indoors were in bed and asleep when t' breeakethru' came. I left t' note for us lads as were still puzzlin' ovver 't an' reported into t' darkness. Results were excellent on t' brownie point list. I'm set up for weeks now. (barring doin' summat daft)

Thanks folks.
I had already investigated via the Telnet menu, and ran the disk checks, which failed on startup, so I wrongly assumed that fix disk would also suffer from no disks being found.
Just gained access (family have given up on broadcast TV because 'there's nothing on' and run fix...
There I was, doing something over the web, and the image of the remote didn't load correctly, despite several refreshes. Did a power down and a hard (power turned off, count to 7) restart, and a message appears to say 'No HDD' and there seems to be no way out of it. Disk check and similar all...
SD = 'standard definition' - aha - thanks. HD is probably something more specific than 'High Density' then. ?
TV's aren't so 'smart' they can make sensible decisions about preferences. 'Always watch the news in HD, but swap back because the BBC can't broadcast local news in HD, and have to...
I really really don't understand your problem with presentation. Camel case protocol for source code was never a good idea, and your sentence illustrates the fact.
Most of us would have just said 'Oh, sorry, I was in such a hurry I made a mistake.' and most of us would laugh with you and say...
post 39 - Recording the rugby..
We have 2 recorders, in different rooms, and set them up to record the matches. What a mess! being broadcast on different channels, with pseudo overlapping times, and in both HD and low density. Taking the simple life, we just use the find facility for...
Well, I've just arrived at this thread, with its intriguing title about lost recordings. But I confess it's been an involved read. For clarification, I've spent a half century on and off looking for faults in software - such as the stuff we're here to discuss, and Every help call has to start...
Well, I finally had to open handset. When (the first ) one failed, I just bought another, and laid aside the dead one to be cleaned and sorted. Now the replacement has failed(wish) so I turn back to the dormant one and open it up. Signs of what I guess are body fats on the inside between the...
Some of this sounds familiar. I've also had the 'log in' issue, and was unable to trace It's origin. I'm also having issues with webif of what are claimed to be 'dropped connections' or 'server busy' according to the error message. I used telnet menu to clear all users, and I removed...
B&Q and Screwfix both tend to sell cheap stuff. I found myself returning some oval brads. 1 inch (25mm in new money) oval brads - they contained 25% with misshapen heads and/or off centre points, bad steel too, bent at the first sign of fight back from the timber.
I haven’t been here for quite a while. Just found this thread.
Can’t help on the diagnosis, because it was a few months ago, but I had runaway issues, and gradually deleted packages until it stopped. Had no trouble until connecting two boxes, and hadn’t got the two linked before ending the...
Hello everyone,
According to my profile I haven't posted here, though it's a most useful resource. Here's the story.
I have two HDR T2's and installed CF years back when they were new. What a delight to browse to a recorder over the network here and watch a recording whilst not in the same...
