Just my humble opinion but that automount procedure seems like a lot of work when a one-click install of Samba allows one very easily to browse to any shared resource on a Windows network
Samba is one of the add-on packages for the custom firmware. It enables Linux/Unix machines to be seen on a Windows network. Install it (go to the web interface > packages > available) and you should be able to see the Humax after a couple of minutes.
Don't know if this helps or not, but I was unable to see the Humax on my network until I installed the Custom Firmware and installed the Samba package. The Humax then became visible as a computer on the network and in my XBMC setup, using 'add videos' as part of Windows network (SMB) where I was...
Still having fun exploring the features of my new HDR-FOX T2.
One thing which I've noticed regarding aspect ratio settings: my Panasonic plasma is set to 16:9, as is the Humax. With Display Format set to 'Auto' it slightly squeezes the centre of the picture and stretches the sides on some...
Thanks for the replies - I gave up and used HumaxMediaController. Fortunately that decided to behave itself and I was able (slowly!) to get everything off that I needed to. I've upgraded to an HDR-Fox T2 so I won't be needing to do it again.
I'm trying to transfer some recordings off my 9200T using Humaxrw.
I removed the hard drive from the Humax, installed it into an IDE to USB caddy but I can't get a PC to recognise the drive. I can hear the drive spin up when I switch on the caddy but that's it.
I've tried two different...
Thanks Ezra
I've figured out two ways already:
1. Copy to USB Drive (SD videos)
or
2. Decrypt on the T2 and then browse to the file from my laptop using Windows File Manager and just copy it across to where I want it (Samba enabled).
I'm sure I'm just scratching the surface! SO much...
Hi,
I've been lurking here for several months - I have been wanting to replace my ageing 9200T for a long time and finally took a punt on an ex-display HDR-FOX T2 on ebay and managed to win it (I'm retired and on limited funds). I struck gold because it was unused, hadn't ever had a set-up and...
