Thanks guys ( or "guyess's'").
Looks like Samsung UE32H5000 is current model so gonna download manual to see if what I want.
Also will go to local Currys, but trouble seems to be is that they only run DVD's on their demos. So no true
representation of TV pic.
My local Currys say they can't...
Although my 2000T seems to have settled down, my 6 year old Sony 26inch still has its odd moments with the Hummy. I'm now considering getting a new set. I realise that it is personal choice, but what 32inch set do Hummyites consider the best match.
Well, that didnt last long! HDMI sound was working good until this evening. Used same seqeunce as norm- 2000T already on standby, TV in normal use. Switched Hummy on to watch a recording. It went thru its usual 'switching' set up. Picture appeared, no sound! So unplugged from mains, waited 10-15...
Sat Jan 10th. 2000T seems to be working ok now on Scart but with delayed start. Tried HDMI and managed to get vision but no sound.
Then tried different HDMI cables and instead of my Sony Bravia tried my 19inch Samsung. Managed same outcome ( but very garish colours). Did factory
reset, still...
Thanks Trev. Tried new Scart but to no avail. Have been thinking of changing TV, does problem only apply to Sony?? If so, any suggestions of best tv for Humax?
Not sure if this is already on forum.
Set up is between HDR-2000T and Sony Bravia 26inch LD26.
HDR-2000T:-
Scart connections – HDMI to Sony is a non-runner.(with either my 9300 or 2000T.
Used purely for recording and playback of 'future programmes'
No Wi-Fi or Ethernet set up, but Content share...
So the pink elephant I saw was real!!!. there is now an update. Looks like 2000t will now be a better machine.
Sorry to say, bit of a pessimist. So wonder what other faults are gonna come along.
part unknown of the Update Saga.
Asked humax if it might be a early Xmas prezzie or belated Easter egg.
Reply just in "The update should be ready in the coming weeks but we do not have
a specific frame Im afraid"
Have to go just saw a pink elephant flying acrooss the sky!!!!!
Being paranoid about all things legal, I was looking thru HumaxDirect website, under "Buying From Humax I found amongst the information the following :-
'NOTE: All new products have a 2 year onsite warranty, "Managers specials" and "Grade A" units are only covered by a 1 year on site warranty.'...
Asked Humax Tech today about loopthru update for 200T. Answer went along the lines of 'Could not be done whilst the Commonwealth Games were on and we have to wait for the Broadcaster to give us time on the transmitter. They are doing repair work [presumably the one for my area] but it should be...
Sorry if I didnt explain things correctly. What I meant was to let Scart connection do the switching and then the HDMI connection transmit the better quality output to screen.
Now for a really naive question. As HDMI does not 'auto-switch' PVR's to tv's, can I leave the Scart plug in to get the pvr to switch and then get HDMI quality playback.
Just trolling thru pages and found this on a link to DTG. Is this the reason for no firmware/software updates from Humax. Unless of course they still haven't released them 'into the world'!!!

Thanks guys for your info.
The thing I noticed on other websites is that the 2000T doesn't have a clock display ( but I guess I can live with that), however it seems that the Rf loop thru doesn't work properly in standby and that Humax are meant to be arranging an update for this problem...
At present I have an ageing 9300,but faults are starting to show. As the new 2000T doesn't have a display and also appears to have problems with RF loopthru on standby, I was thinking about getting a Graded Fox T2 from HumaxDirect. As T2 has been superceded by 2000T, I was wondering if anybody...
