Backup / Restore Humax 9300T to HDR Fox 2
Found it to be /dev/sda device name. Humaxrw -b backs up to current dir, including ts, elu, epg, and hre files, hopefully what’s needed to restore. Hopefully -p option can put them back?- phd

Backup / Restore Humax 9300T to HDR Fox 2
I see that there is the humaxrw utility package to copy files from a 9300T to the HDR, question is, can this be used to restore the files back from the HDR Fox 2 onto a 9300T that has been freshly formatted? What command options should be used to this?- phd

Fix-disk output meaning...
It would seem that there is one specific directory that seems to be causing the main locking up problem. If I try to ls in that directory is just hangs, same when thing trying to access via ftp. Is there a way to recover that one specific directory via it's inode, using superblocks / alternate...- phd

Can I connect a second HDD internally via Sata cable in order to transfer file from one to the other as a backup, then reformat original? If so what's the best way to copy the stuff off? cp -R? Do you think I should just abort the e2fsck now?- phd

Series link failed recordings on ITV
Over the past few weeks I have had trouble with scheduled ITV series linked programmes (in particular Emmerdale) failing to record often getting zero size files, sometimes nothing at all and other times two copies, one with zero size the second only 15 mins recorded. HDR-Fox T2 crashing once a month!
By default, without the fan package it set it off, so I thought just giving it a bit a light air flow would be enough just to extend the period between being switched on to full by the normal Humax service, also keeping fan noise to a minimum. Setting it 99% was just to quickly cool it down...- phd

HDR-Fox T2 crashing once a month!
I installed the latest package version after the failure, although there were only 3, none of them being the fan package. Although the hard disk diagnostic stated 69 degrees, the system monitor only showed a maximum of 55 degrees - then a period of no reports - but there was obviously a power...- phd

HDR-Fox T2 crashing once a month!
I've done the regular checks for crashing, the hard disk is fairly new, with the diagnostics up until now not showing any problems, it's just recently that I saw it flag an over temperature warning that reached 69 degrees.- phd

HDR-Fox T2 crashing once a month!
I normally have the minimum set to about 25%, which seems to be ok, the system monitor shows the 4 levels of fan control based on the temperature. Where is says "off", I assume this is where the minimum fan setting kicks in and maintains it on at whatever level is set. On the system monitor it...- phd

What would I need to do to try this? Is it just a matter of sticking the contents on a USB drive and boot to update on top of exiting CF 3.00, or do I need to remove the current build first? Is it the same process to revert back to the current version, or again would the test kernel need...- phd

On the hard disk labe my says "Product of China", I don't know if serial numbers point to their origin? There are many different Western Digital hard drives (http://www.wdc.com/en/products/catalog/default.aspx?segment=1). I don't know which would be best, but I would think the WD AV drives would...- phd

My disk has been fine for over two months, but now exhibiting these symptoms. Is there a way I can confirm a faulty disk, and who's to say a new one won't go the same way? Is there a recommended alternate to the segate 2TB disk that has been tried and tested for a long period?- phd
