To add to this, I’m so pissed off at Humax’s performance and quality - this is my third pvr from them and each time I’ve had majorly inconvenient issue like replacing HDD’s, or buying a new box and not being able to play recordings from another box that were on an external drive, never mind the...
More correctly they appear to have disappeared when you start up - but a reboot magically makes them reappear. It's a known issue, but I've not yet seen a definitive solution - most say "start a recording and then they'll reappear" but 1) I cant start a recording when it's in that state, the red...
Out of nowhere my FVP5000T has started having this problem. When I turn it on it says “network disconnected”, the time stamp is wrong, there are no recordings in the list, and I can’t get it to start recording by using the remote. If I set a recording it starts, then craps out after 1 minute...
Hmm, don't recall a retune happening, but maybe I'll have to do that and see if it comes back - we so rarely watch or record anything on ITV the issue went unnoticed.
We've had to rely on ITV player (streamed from an iPhone to an AppleTV) to watch the last 3 episodes of Broadchurch. This weeks episode didn't record at all, and the previous 2 weeks we had the "could not track programme" error. After watching the episodes last night I checked the EPG to make...
In the end I gave up trying to connect the Hummy to the Fritz!box wifi, and bought an AppleTV. I can now stream all the catchup services from my iPhone or (unless it's an ITV programme for some reason, where the iPad app doesn't work properly to mirror the display) iPad or MacBook.
I didn't actually view mine, as there are waay too many settings to play with to get any real idea from a Curry's display. I researched mine by review, and found a website that a) recommended it and b) gave the settings they'd used. I bought it, plugged those in, and haven't changed them in 3...
Well I now have a problem connecting to my wireless network. I had a connection with my original router, and an Edimax dongle (can't recall the model, it's the one recommended in the HDR-T2 forum a couple of years ago - a aerial type thing on a short extender). Anyway, I was able to connect...
I've just got a 200t. Tried the supplied dongle - wouldn't even see my network (in fact it only saw 3). Plugged in the Edimax one O'd been using on my T2, hey presto, shows 8 networks including mine.
In the end I did what should have been obvious from the outset... I connected the T2 to a spare HDMI input on the TV so I can just play back over it until I've depleted all my recordings. At least if it stops for any reason now it won't affect recordings ('cos they'll be on the new 2000T) and a...
I see that using Foxy I can attach the USB drive to my PC and decrpypt the recordings so as to make them playable on the new machine, so that's what I shall do. Question is where do I download Foxy from?
Edit - found it.
I haven't used any custom software, so I've kept the original box handy to play back the recordings I moved off its hard drive. Messy maybe but I wanted a reliable box for future recordings.
Well nearly all my recordings are HD and I just use the inbuilt copy command to move them to an external drive, formatted using the Hummy, and they play perfectly well.
Well it was something.... Did it again on Friday. Playback stopped, unable to play any previous recordings, and a current recording halted at that point. Did a cold reboot and working agin. Copied recordings to external drive - but it hung several times doing that, and as a result I lost my...
Thanks for that. The immediate reboot was done to make sure we captured a couple of recordings later that evening (though in retrospect we could have used iPlayer for that!). I'll keep an eye on it, and hope that it's not a HDD issue developing. I may in any event get a new box for Christmas...
