I was thinking of 'upgrading' to a 500T from my old FoxT2 as the 2TB version is only £139 (click and collect) at Argos. Once I carried out a custom system update (helpfully suggested through this forum) on my T2 the noisy fan/HDD (not sure which it was) was fixed and the box seems to run fine...
I have downloaded the Customised Firmware. Followed the instructions and now when I turn on the Fox T2 it displays Custom Firmware 3.03 on the front panel briefly on start up. However when I go into the system settings information it tells me that the firmware is still 1.03.12. Is that correct?
Thanks peeps. I might go for the HDD replacement option having looked at the thread as even I should e capable of doing that without mucking it up. If I did go for a replacement model I would look at official Humax 'refurb' from their website. This is where I got my current Fox T2 and the 9300 I...
I have a 1TB HDR FoxT2 which is becoming increasingly noisy which I think is the hard drive rather than the fan. I am getting concerned therefore that it might be on its way out.
Options I am considering are
Replacing the HDD in the FoxT2. Is this easy to do and what HDD should I be looking...
Just did a full auto retune and now have BBC3HD but not BBC4HD. I receive from the Mendip transmitter. Is this right or should I be getting BBC4HD as well?
Dave
Bit disappointed with the 'extras' available through the portal unless I'm missing stuff or there is a way of adding to it.
I just have BBC iPlayer, Youtube, Picasa, Flickr, Wiki TV and internet radio.
Am I short of anything?
David
Is this an easy process? I'm not a particularly technically adept person but if it's reasonably easy to do I'm prepared to have a go.
Is there a thread on this forum somewhere that I can find instructions?
David
OK so I've downloaded PVR9200T Media Controller V1.05 but can't even unpack the driver despite following the instructions. Probably written prior to Windows 7 64 bit?
When I get to stage 7 "Select the "HumaxSTBAlternate.inf" file and click the "Open" button." that is just a read me file...
Finally going to transfer some old recordings from my 9200 to my PC.
I have Humaxrw-1.14-win32 (1) with GUI downloaded and my 9200 connected via USB.
Humaxrw isn't seeing the 9200 so I'm guessing I need the drivers (Windows was unable to install).
Where do I get the correct drivers from...
Now a proud owner of 1TB Fox HDR-FOX T2. Must say first impressions very good. Fantastic picture quality, even in SD and so much better than my old 9200.
Dave
Thanks but our Broadband supplier is Talk Talk. Did think about taking up Talk Talk TV with their free Huawei PVR but decided against it as can't find any reviews of their box and it's only 320gb (my daughter would fill that with Justin Bieber and similar nonsense!).
Bitten the bullet and...
Thanks thus far. I have BBC i Player and 5OD on both my Sony TV and Blu Ray Player so it's only 4OD and ITV player I'm missing.
Given that the occasions when I might need ITV Player and 4OD are going to be limited (like when we forgot to record Broadchurch) I guess You View is probably going...
