She currently has my old 9200T, but apparently she now wants an upgrade (I dunno why, I haven't asked).
I use a HDR-T2, which has been going well for 5 years or so. Shame they don't do 'em any more.
Anyway, my sister wants a new box. She doesn't have internet, nor is she likely to, so I don't...
Freeview Play to launch in October (for those who didn't know, but the link is a few weeks old now):
http://www.freeview.co.uk/articles/news-and-features/blog-post/freeview-play-to-launch-next-month-2.html
I tried to talk my folks into getting a FVP (Is that the acronym we'll use?) Panny TV in...
I've done a fix-disk -x-c and a long self test. We'll see how it goes now.
Incidentally, after the fix-disk -x-c (friday night) the box seemed to operate well for over an hour on saturday. So fingers crossed :)
Thanks guys, I'll do a full fix-disk overnight tonight, and report back. I have more confidence in the HDD, hopefully I don't end up with other failing hardware!
I was following BH's guide, I think I did most of it based on the the initial symptoms (Section 2).. which led me to the telnet...
I've been experiencing problems that appear to have come on rather suddenly.
(relating to the HDR-T2.. in case you think I'm going to get rather personal!)
Symptoms are:
Playback of recorded programmes: Humax crashes, reboots (says CRASHING on front display, or similar). This occurs at a random...
Is it possible to set unwatched flags on files on my external hdd?
As I understand it, the Humax uses the HMT file to decide what is watched or not, but these files do not exist for non-ts files. The only thing created is the HMI file which is a stripped down version of the HMT file.
I thought...
Excellent.
We'll start off by keeping AR, and ensuring that the box is switched off on the right channel prior to anything being recorded. We can do this as we'll record kids stuff in the mornings on S4C, and any evening time stuff we can organise properly (all this being looked at now before Y...
Obviously my search terms weren't that good.
OK, so possible with major caveats. Will have to discuss it with the missus.
Still, had word from S4C last night that it is imminent that all their content will be on iPlayer (i.e. through the portal, not via their website to Clic, the S4C catchup...
I know there are issues when you try to tune in channels from two transmitters. The issue usually lies in the recording of programmes, iirc.
However, if I tuned (for example) PSB2 from one transmitter, and the remaining muxes from a different transmitter, would there still be a problem?
Also...
Nope, not until you mentioned it, and then I went and saw the option for myself. So all is well and good. Copying using the box will be better from a batch perspective (though the auto-decrypt could now be used as I gain more familiarity with the CFW), but good to learn about other options too...
It must be a simple issue...
I am copying the files from the PVR onto a USB HDD, then copying from the HDD to my PC so I can edit/reencode.
But why do the files not play back on my PC when doing this?
The files are not HD.
The files appear not to be otherwise encrypted (hmt file address...
Ah yes, thanks BH for the advice. It's a bit clunky imo, as I'll have loads of shares at base level, but never mind (I have kids stuff, my own stuff, wife's own stuff), it looks like it'll work unless a better solution pops up..
also, I managed to get in and edit the package, so now I have a...
Wow, what a thread! I have set up my NAS and Hummy, and am able to see the NAS from the hummy on SMB.
The one thing that doesn't quite work is mounting subfolders on the NAS.
i.e. I have video, pictures, music folders that I can see. Within video, I have created 'TV' and 'Film' folders. I would...
I upgraded from CFW 2.12 and Webif 0.10 last night (first updating the official FW to the latest version). Glad to say that everything that was working is still working, and a very noticeable difference in the webif (but then I didn't stay on the bleeding edge with my 'if it ain't broke'/...
1. Very impressed with progress.
2. The Humax logo is the wrong one! compare it with the boot logo or the one on the front of the box, you'll see what I mean :)
3. I guess that (for instance) xbmc developed addons for the various OD channels is a completely different beast to this one. I have...
I have seen a huge amount of negative press about We Are Electricals and WAE+ (their renamed company when the previous closed down) and other subsidiaries over on MSE forums... It seems like they simply source (or believe they can source) from other distributors around the EU. I will never buy...
