HDD or Tuner on blink?
2 aerials into a passive Y combiner then into the amp. Not the best solution. My TX are Mendip (main) and Wenvoe which pump out the power. I may have a reason why it suddenly started. HDD or Tuner on blink?
Had the same problem of pic breakup and freezing start on my 5000 recently. Sig and quality 100% before and now so perhaps overload? I have an aerial amp as I combine 2 aerials so have removed the amp and sig down to 85-95% with quality 100%. I'll see if the problem clears.- crvdale

Another User experience
Of all the awful features of the 5000 this is the one that really annoys me. It used to happen on earlier models but was fixed with the Fox T2. I wish my Fox T2 hadn't broken..... :(- crvdale

FVP-5000. How do I see the Mux ch number?
Ah.... you're right it does show the channel number. I think my problem stems from the attempt to manually retune when it indicated ch35 was broadcasting but it wouldn't receive any stations - I don't know why. The signal test didn't then indicate the ch number. I ended up doing a factory reset...- crvdale

As someone else said, the signal test just shows signal strength. A bit more technical info there would be useful.- crvdale

Just struggling to retune after Freeview changes at the Mendip transmitter. BBC-B mux (BBC HD channels) is being received at 100% on ch 35 but no channels found. Thanks! This "feature" and other wonderful backward steps I've discovered in this box are annoying. Have Humax actually done anything about rectifying them in future software releases or are we stuck with them?- crvdale

Great comment!! I only noticed it a while and I thought things seemed to be going slowly. I then Googled it and found these various threads about it and realised it was an issue. Once you know about it the problem becomes a bit more obvious and annoying.- crvdale

I've got BBC 3 HD from the Mendip (West) transmitter and BBC 4HD from the Wenvoe (Cardiff) transmitter as Mendip don't broadcast it yet. I do get issues with recording on these sometimes but as programmes are repeated endlessly over several days I don't actually miss anything :)- crvdale

So I've quite a lot scheduled (yes, I know that can slow it down a bit). A factory reset means setting the schedule up again...- crvdale

Mines as slow as ever! Really getting to the point now where I wonder if I should replace the thing with something else. It's been frustrating for many months now.
