Having received notification of postings on here I decided to look at them again. At 30gb's a time it would be easy to fill up my hard drives. Even though I have a 5.1 system I use a sound bar most of the time. I can't be bothered to fire up 5 channels of amplifier and a sub except for a special film. I was just listing what the 30gb file would offer. I have downloaded the file even though I streamed the originals from the BBC in 4k- Mike Somers

Anyone enjoying watching the one planet thingy currently on the 4k iplayer ?
My LG OLED loves it and the images are quite wonderful. I do however have 50mbs so I do get the full bandwidth. I understand that the BBC server negotiates a bandwidth with your IP address and supplies that. They do recommend 40mbs for best picture. I enjoy "how we did it" at the end almost...- Mike Somers

Disable OTA has woken us at 4am 2 nights running
I do get a banner (on my LG B7) telling me that one of the Humax devices is available even though they are only set to record but no switching on etc or changing input. I do find it irritating but cannot prevent it.- Mike Somers

That implies that whenever the Hummy is set to record it switches on the TV? I have 2 Freeview and 1 Freesat recorders (Humax) connected to a Smart TV none of which do that.- Mike Somers

Firmware hiccups?
I have been very pleased with my receiver except for a recent problem. I turned the receiver on 2 days ago and discovered that all my recordings had dissappeared and the usb hard drive was not accessible. Many thanks for the rapid reply. I have just set a recording (following your instructions) for the 20th February. I have justed read the manual from the Humax web page and there is no mention of manual option! Is there anywhere to look for any other undocumented options for the HB-1000S...- Mike Somers

Can one set a recording without using the Freetime listings. I subscribe to digiguide and have TV listings up to 3 weeks in advance. undeleting channels
I have discovered the way of doing things partialy from this forum and with some experimentation. Having deleted the named channel I then retuned(manually) the required channel for my local transmitter. All the stations on that transmitter channel (55 in my case) were also added back in but...- Mike Somers

I think you mean highlight (from computer) and delete via the keyboard. That works. I suppose I was expecting to be able to transfer the deleted channel back by an arrow in the reverse direction (much like Digiguide) Thanks for the quick reply.- Mike Somers

Having used the channeldel package to delete channels on boot how do I add some of them back in. I removed the channeldel package hoping to start over but it seemed to remember the previous settings when I re-installed it. How do I keep those channels I had deleted?- Mike Somers

HDR freezing up regularly
I agree that we can become too dependant on technology although I was a systems engineer so my work life revolved around technology.
