Well, it can be anything; there doesn't appear to be any particular trigger that I've noticed, to it happening; it seems to happen about once in every ten recordings. The last time it happened was just the other day, when it recorded two each of the episodes of 'Box of Delights'. I've got used...
My recently-purchased Aura 4K 2Tb is doing something strange; it has a tendency to sometimes (but not always) record two instances of the same programme, which isn't exactly the end of the world, but still shouldn't happen. Anyone else seen that?
Also, I was used to accessing my previous...
Blimey; I'd completely forgotten about any earlier posts. It didn't occur to me to even look. Still, it was 8 years ago!
As an aside, my even-more-elderly HDR-Fox T2 gave up the ghost recently, and has been replaced with an Aura 4K 2Tb, which I am still getting to grips with. I do miss the web...
Of course it would! And I used to work on an IT helpdesk, so I should know better!
OK, it turns out the DNS settings were set to 0.0.0.0, so changing the values to the same as the router (192.168.1.1) got it back. I don't know why that changed; I certainly don't recall doing it!
Thank you sir...
Where are the settings for network connection on the FoxSAT? I've been through all the menus, and I can't find any way to change or set anything relating to the network.
No, it's not the router; that restarts itself every 24 hours at 3am. Plus, this is a new router a few weeks ago, but the same thing used to happen with the old one too.
My FoxSAT won't update itself; I get the following when I try;
'wget: bad address 'hpkg.tv'
Downloading http://hpkg.tv/foxsat/base/Packages.gz.
Collected errors:
* opkg_download: Failed to download http://hpkg.tv/foxsat/base/Packages.gz, wget returned 1.
Updating package meta information.'...
Oh yes; of course I knew. I just never used them, as the audio goes into the TV via HDMI, then out of the TV to the Yamaha DSP, and on to the soundbar via light pipe.
Problem solved; thanks guys!
It turns out that the HDMI input on the TV that the HDR-FOX is connected to, had somehow set itself to 'B'; I think I first noticed it following a firmware update, but didn't realise the significance of 'B', so I didn't do anything with it, till I noticed the lack...
I haven't tried that, as the audio feeds are optical, so they either work or they don't; unlike with an analogue cable where it might be possible to get a short or a broken connection, and so lose a channel, or short to mono. I have tried different optical fibre cables, but that made no...
The two PVR's and the blu-ray player are connected to the TV via HDMI, and the optical audio out from the TV goes to the optical in on the Yamaha DSP, and then on to the JBL soundbar by optical cable and/or analogue line out; the results are the same regardless of which input is used on the...
I discovered recently that my HDR-FOX T2 is only playing back audio in mono, regardless of how the audio settings are set (Stereo/Surround). There isn't even a mono option! This is happening regardless of the source (live off air/recordings off HD/media files on a USB drive).
Anyone come across...
