1800T not responding to Humax remote RM-H06S

Can anyone suggest why my Humax 1800T Freeview has stopped responding to its remote control (RM-H06S)?
What I've tried:
1. Have put new batteries in the remote - but to no effect.
2. The 1800T's remote works with another Humax (a Foxxsat HDR) - it can turn it on and off, and change channels etc. So it looks like the 1800T's remote is working ok.
3. The on/off button on the 1800T front panel turns it on/off. When it's on, the screen displays the screen-saver clock but nothing else.
4. Before the 1800T stopped responding to its remote, its display showed recorded programmes, and I could use the remote to play them.

Question: might the 1800T's remote have lost its link to the 1800T, somehow? If so, how might I re-register it?

I hope someone can help!

Have you tried disconnecting the 1800T from the mains and then reconnecting? That might get the Humax to show something other than the screen saver. If it boots up properly to show a normal display the remote might be recognised.

Thanks to everyone. I guess it's likely a broken IR receiver.

But just in case my 1800T's remote has lost its link to the 1800T, is there a way to re-register it to its parent 1800T.? The remote (RM-H06S) doesn't have a PVR button, so the ploy of pressing and holding the 0 and OK buttons on the remote until the PVR button glows red isn't available!

Have you tried the channel up/down buttons on the front panel? If you can't move away from the screen saver clock by this method you may have bigger problems than the remote.
The 2000T (essentially an 1800T with slight changes) will do a proper reboot if you hold the front panel on/off for a few seconds. Be aware it may switch itself off after the reboot (my 2000T did when testing).

The instructions I've seen would require the 1800T to be on and working. Any other Humax off. Hold 0 and OK for (about) 5 seconds and there should be a code selection message on the TV.

I have no experience of the 1800T, but this seems ominous to me.
And me. I do have the vaguest recollection of something similar - but that sorted itself out after a full power off (as in take the plug out of the wall socket), wait for whatever, and reboot.

Hi again. Thanks to everyone for your help. Good news: issue resolved!!

The problem was sorted by re-registering the RM-H06S to code 2 (was set to code 1). Then (after connecting the terrestrial coax and LAN cable) it's now back to normal.

Re-registered by pressing both the remote's 0 and OK buttons for 5 s or so and then following the on-screen pop-up instructions.

I think if the batteries are out too long then the remotes for 1800/2000 series (and the HB/HDR satellite boxes) revert to mode 1.

I've had weirdness in the past with one of my HDR Fox-T2 machines. It stopped responding to the remote and I went through every code on the remote (in a different room) then tried it on the affected device - none of the six modes worked. Finally, I tried changing the mode whilst in the room, in sight of the receiver, and it came back to life.
I concluded that somehow the unit had forgotten which mode it was in and it wasn't in any of the six possible that are configurable on the remote.
It seems like your 1800 is afflicted with the same susceptibility, which is not entirely unexpected given the hardware similarity.
